Review: NARS Deep Throat Blush + Swatches!!

Product

“Deep Throat” is described by Nars as ‘flirty, sheer peach’ and by Sephora as a ‘peach with shimmer’. I would describe it more as a warm-toned, medium pink with a subtle sheen. Now don’t get scared by the word sheen, it doesn’t have chunky monkey pieces of glitter or super obvious shimmer particles, it just has a nice glowing quality to it. It gives just enough glow to your cheeks to make them appear less flat.

As with all the Nars blushes I’ve encountered they are extremely great quality. The pigmentation is great, very easy to build up with a heavier hand, or sheer out with a lighter touch. This blush lasts almost all day on my normal-combination skin, I would say between 7-9 hours, depending on how heavily you apply it.

On my medium skin tone I think this is a great blush that can look very lovely on the palest of skin tones, up to more deeply tanned skin, though it would need quite a heavy hand on deeply tanned skin to give a pink color pay off. Though I’m not sure how well this would show up on deeper skin tones, it would probably be best to go to a counter and swatch it or have it applied right then and there if you are unsure.

Packaging

In case you haven’t noticed by the title, NARS gets quite cheeky with their names! Though in this case some people may even consider it vulgar, they even have a multiple named ‘G-Spot’! I think personally its fun, though if someone on the street happens to asks me what blush I’m wearing, I won’t exactly be gung-ho to tell them it’s true name!

If you’ve ever owned or handled a Nars product you know the feeling of their slightly rubberized black packaging. While lovely to look at when it’s brand new, it has a tendency to attract fingerprints and stray makeup residue so over time it’s pristine black packaging gets more and more skin colored. Though with a wet cloth you can clean it right back up to an almost new appearance.

Inside all Nars compacts there is a mirror that is as big as the compact lid. This comes in very handy when applying your makeup on the go, or last minute touch ups.

Pricing

Nars in general is a bit more on the pricy side, though I think it’s worth it! Their blushes just recently went up in price, they are now $29 for 0.16 oz. Definitely on the higher end for blush, but with how pigmented it is you use much less than a normal blush.

Overall

I love this blush, it was one of my first Nars blushes and I would definitely repurchase it if for some reason it went missing or broke beyond repair. Its very blendable, suitable for a wide rang of skin tones, and just an overall beautiful color. I would definitely recommend this! You can buy it here

And now, the best part, the swatches! All swatches were taken in full, direct sunlight. Because of this, the shimmer particles are more pronounced than they are in person.
