“Lovejoy” by NARS is described as a ‘shimmering bronzed rose’ and by Sephora exactly the same. I think this is a very accurate description of this blush. Not overly shimmering as the description implies, it just adds a nice bit of glow to the cheeks. In the pan this color can be quite intimidating, but once swatched on the skin or applied with a brush, it turns into a beautiful bronzed rose color with bits of very fine gold shimmer particles. Very similar effect of when you have a tan and just got done working out, the perfect mix of bronze and rosey flush.
This blush is very, very pigmented, and a little bit goes a long way. I think for those of you with paler skin tones you need to be a bit careful with this blush, because it can be very easy to over do this blush in a short amount of time. But I think a pro for this blush being so pigmented its that I think, not %100 sure though, if you built it up a bit it would be nice on those of you with deeper skin tones.
On my normal – combination skin, this blush will last on my skin all day long, we’re talking 12+ hours here. I’m actually wearing this now and I put it on for school at about 8:45 in the morning and it’s now almost 10 at night and I can still very clearly see it. Some fading has occurred around the apples of my cheeks where I tend to get a smidgen oily throughout the day, but it’s not patchy, it’s a very nice even fade.
If you’ve ever owned or handled a Nars product you know the feeling of their slightly rubberized black packaging. While lovely to look at when it’s brand new, it has a tendency to attract fingerprints and stray makeup residue so over time it’s pristine black packaging gets more and more skin colored. Though with a wet cloth you can clean it right back up to an almost new appearance.
Inside all Nars compacts there is a mirror that is as big as the compact lid. This comes in very handy when applying your makeup on the go, or last minute touch ups.
Nars in general is a bit more on the pricy side, though I think it’s worth it! Their blushes just recently went up in price, they are now $29 for 0.16 oz. Definitely on the higher end for blush, but with how pigmented it is you use much less than a normal blush.
This is a very unique shade of blush that I don’t see very often among other brands, and not nearly this good of quality. I would definitely recommend this blush to anyone. It’s a very easy all in one blush, I don’t feel the need for bronzer when I wear this. You can buy it here!
And now for the swatches!

I hope you all enjoyed this, sorry for the delay! I ‘ve been a busy busy bee as of late and every time I get time to take pictures, I have no natural sunlight, and I’ve tried indoor lighting and it’s just not as good of quality. If you have any products you’d like me to do a review on, just comment below with your requests! Until next time . . .
