Review: LORAC Unzipped Palette + Swatches!!

DSC_1003_mini

Hello Lovelies,

The other day I was going through my makeup collection, deciding which items to review next and realized that I had never reviewed this palette for you guys. I meant to a couple months ago when I first bought it in a set but I guess it just got pushed to the side with all the other posts I had in mind. But now I’m getting to it and reviewing for you all.

Product

This rosey-warm toned neutral palette contains 10 shades ranging from light to dark and with varying finishes from matte to shimmer, though thankfully there is no glitter in this set. Each shadow is very buttery and smooth, especially the shades with shimmer. Although I had a hard time swatching the matte shades. When applied to the eye there are very pigmented, but when I swatch them the pigment adheres to my finger and not my arm where I’m swatching. So just keep that in mind when you’re looking at the swatches later on.

The shadows all wear the same amount of time, without a primer roughly 3 hours with fading, though keep in mind I have very oily eyelids. With a primer however I noticed no creasing or fading. Each shade is also very pigmented and show true to pan color very easily without much work. Here is a list of the shades and descriptions of the shades that I find to be accurate

Undercover: Light matte-satin cream

Unbelievable: Rosey gold shimmer

Unattainable: True gold shimmer

Unconditional: Medium mauve-toned brown matte

Unbridled: Red-toned matte brown

Undiscovered: Light gold shimmer

Unreal: Light pink champagne shimmer

Uncensored: Golden bronze shimmer

Unspoken: True brown matte

Untamed: Dark bronze shimmer

Packaging

This pallete is housed very simply in a yellow cream cardboard palette with a magnetic closure. There is a small mirror on the lid about one third of the size of the actual palette. Each shadow is in a square pan with two rows of five shades, with the shade names listed in a metallic font. Also the lid of the palette has Lorac printed across very simply with a zipper image around the edge.

Price

This palette is quite reasonably priced at $40 for 11.2g of product in addition to the travel size eye primer. Lorac values the palette at being $200 if all items were sold separately. I was very fortunate and was a able to grab this in a set that also came with a makeup bag, a mini bronzer, a full sized bronzer and highlighter duo, and a full sized lip gloss for just $48. The set isn’t available anymore unfortunately, though just purchasing the palette on it’s own is still a good deal.

Overall

This is a great addition to any makeup addicts collection, but also a really good palette for someone just getting into makeup who needs a wide array of shades. It’s a great travel palette as well because it’s very light, slim and still has enough shades to complete a bunch of different looks. Though all the shades are easily duped, and not very unique so if you have other neutral palettes, I don’t think you need this as well.

And now here are some pictures and swatches!

Well thats it! If you’d like to purchase this palette the best place to do so is through Ulta, because Sephora no longer carries the brand (so sad!).Do any of you guys have this pallet, or are you interested in purchasing it? Let me know in the comments! Until next time . . .
