Today I’m reviewing the Too Faced Natural Matte eyeshadow palette – it’s been a staple ever since I picked this up. I don’t know about you guys but I love the convenience and versatility that eye shadow palettes can give you and this one in particular is the all matte version of the very first eye shadow palette I ever got.
If you’ve ever tried Too Faced eye shadows then you know that they tend to be very pigmented and smooth in texture and these mattes are no different. Making a good matte shadow is very tricky because they have a tendency to go very chalky on the skin but these remain very buttery and smooth. This palette also has a very nice mix of tones and shades of natural shades. On my oily eyelids these shadows last an average amount of time, roughly 8 hours, before they begin to migrate on the eyes and blend into a single color on the lids.
Here is a break down of the shades going from the top row left to right on down:
Heaven – a light beige cream, perfect for the brow bone *repeat from the standard Natural eye palette
Cashmere Bunny – a mid toned cool brown, with a touch of taupe
Sexspresso – a dark cool toned brown
Lace Teddy – a peach toned cream
Strapless – a warm toned medium brown
Risqué – a medium to dark brown with cool undertones
Nudie – a light neutral brown
Honey Butter – a very warm toned light-medium brown
Chocolate Cookie – a classic medium brown with some warm tones
This palette is a great addition to other palettes that may be on the more shimmery side, or if you just love matte shadows on their own.
I love the packaging on this palette because it’s very travel friendly and compact. The shadows come in a small metal compact with a small mirror in the lid which makes for easy application if you’re not in a bathroom or at your vanity. As with most of the palettes in the range (the ones that are all packaged the same as this one) they come with some shadow guides to help give you inspiration on how to apply the shadows – or if you’re new to makeup they help guide you through certain looks.
Too Faced is a generally affordable brand especially given the quality of the their product. This palette is $36 for 9 shadows which total to 0.39 oz of product. For reference an Urban Decay Naked basics palette holds 0.3 oz for $29.
I really love this palette, it’s travel friendly, versatile, and amazing quality! I think if you’re in need of any matte shadows this palette should definitely be one to consider!
