Review: LORAC Pro Matte + Swatches!!

With the continuing craze of the Lorac Pro palettes (Mega Pro 2 I’m looking at you!) and my growing appreciation for matte shadows I knew this palette would be a must!

Product

This small and compact palette is comprised of a mix of warm and cool matte shades ranging from pale to very deep. As with the standard with Lorac matte shadows, these shadows are smooth, creamy and intensely pigmented. However they also give a decent amount of kick up with you lay your brush in the pans so be prepared from some loose shadow when you use this palette.

As for wear time I noticed nothing out of the ordinary, they were neither exceptionally long wearing or short lived, very average in that sense. The shadows are very basic and easily duped, however having them all housed in one small compact is incredibly convenient especially if you’re an eyes shadow junkie and your normal everyday look requires a handful of palettes.

The shades themselves are fairly self explanatory in shade and photos give as accurate representation as possible!

Packaging

I love this cardboard style of palette because they are lightweight and not prone to shadows cracking when a palette is dropped because the softer cardboard style absorbs a lot of shock. However the NARS-esque black slightly rubberized exterior is a magnet for fingerprints and stray bits of makeup, so you’ll have a hard time keeping this new looking but a quick wipe down with a makeup wipe or a damp cloth restores the new look.

Price

Decently priced at $28 for a total of 0.14 oz, which to give reference a single MAC shadow sells for $16 for 0.05 oz this is a pretty good deal, especially given the range of colors you can play with.

Overall

A great staple and something I think everyone should have – not necessarily this exact product but at least these kinds of shades, they can be used in almost every single look in one way or another. This exact palette isn’t essential but I do think having it makes life easier though you probably have most if not all these shades scattered throughout your collection.
